ABOUT THE JOB:

We are looking for a Technical Writer to expand user assistance offerings for our products. As part of our Product Team’s Education Group, you will work with our US-based Senior Content Developer to create a variety of information products: release notes, online help, user guides, administration guides, datasheets, job aids, video tutorials, training materials, and more.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  1. Plan, write, and edit user documentation, including release notes, online help, user guides, administration guides, datasheets, job aids, etc.
  2.  Create graphics for information products.
  3. Interview subject matter experts.
  4. Adhere to the company’s writing styles, standards, and guidelines.
  5. Collaborate with various teams: Development, Design, QA, Training, Business Analysis, Support, and Marketing.
  6. Meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines for content creation in accordance with application development and bug fixes.
  7. Develop training materials.
  8. Script and produce video and multimedia content.
  9. Enhance knowledge sharing within the company.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in technical communication, instructional design, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or a related field.

REQUIREMENTS - SKILLS, JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to quickly learn complex topics.
  3. Ability to communicate technical concepts to various audiences.
  4. Expertise in software documentation, technical writing, and editing.
  5. Proficiency with MadCap Flare.
  6. Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
  7. Expertise in topic-based authoring and single-source content development.
  8. Experience in instructional design.
  9. Experience with learning management systems.
  10. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) management.
  11. Experience with collaborative platforms such as Confluence and SharePoint.
  12. Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  13. Proficiency with screen capture tools such as Snagit.
  14. Experience with screen recording and video editing tools such as Camtasia.
  15. Experience with graphics software such as Visio, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  16. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  17. Experience with issue/bug-tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.

PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED) SKILLS, JOB KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Experience with content management systems.
  2. Experience with Docebo administration and management.
  3. Experience with source control tools.
  4. Knowledge of user experience (UX) design.
  5. Experience with help authoring tools such as Author-it, Adobe RoboHelp, HelpNDoc, etc.
  6. Experience with desktop publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign.
  7. Experience with e-learning tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline.
  8. Experience with labor management, time & attendance, and/or HRIS systems.
  9. Experience with localization management.
  10. Experience with Git Bash.
