ABOUT THE JOB:

The Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and protecting the organization’s network and data. This role involves identifying security threats, developing strategies to mitigate risks, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations. The Security Analyst will work closely with other IT team members to safeguard the organization's information assets and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  1. Continuously monitor the organization’s networks, systems, and applications for signs of security breaches, suspicious activities, or potential threats.
  2. Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, SSO, IPS, DLP, email security, and vulnerability scanning.
  3. Respond promptly to security incidents, such as malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, or data breaches.
  4. Conduct thorough investigations to determine the root cause, extent, and impact of security incidents.
  5. Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses in the organization’s systems and applications.
  6. Develop, review, and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure they align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  7. Identify and assess security risks to the organization’s assets, data, and operations.
  8. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts of security threats.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, legal regulations, and contractual obligations such as ISO27001, SOC2 and GDPR.
  10. Prepare for and support internal and external security audits and assessments.
  11. Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, including actions taken and lessons learned.
  12. Prepare and present regular reports on security metrics, incidents, and activities to management and other stakeholders.
  13. Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
  14. Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to manage security risks associated with external partnerships.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  2. Any security accreditations such as CISSP, CompTIA+ would be nice to have but not required.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security or a related field.
  5. Strong understanding of network and system security principles, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
  6. Experience with security tools such as SIEM (Wazuh), vulnerability scanners (Rapid7), and Microsoft 365 Compliance.
  7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure Cloud).
  10. Knowledge of OWASP and NIST preferred.
  11. Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2 and GDPR.
