Hilton Finds Solution They’re Looking for in UniFocus Time and Attendance and LMS Systems

UniFocus, the leader in Labor Management solutions for the hospitality industry,  is pleased to announce that Hilton, a leading global hospitality company,has chosen UniFocus’ innovative Labor Management (LMS) and Time and Attendance (T&A) Systems to optimize its global labor management initiative.

“Labor is the largest expense incurred by hotels, and we were seeking out leading-edge technology to really drive our Global Labor Management System (GLMS) initiative,” says Patrick Volz, Vice President of Operations Finance – the Americas, Hilton. “After a thorough review of the major vendors in the industry, the request for proposals process provided us with all of the information we needed, and we found the technology we were looking for in UniFocus.”

Under the terms of the agreement, LMS will be installed across all Hilton owned, leased and managed full-service properties in North America, as well as all international locations. Time and Attendance systems will be installed in all international locations, beginning with the United Kingdom properties this year.

Six successful pilots kicked off the program. Systems were implemented in the Waldorf Astoria New York, Hilton New York, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Waldorf Astoria Orlando Bonnet Creek, Hilton Glasgow and Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor.

“I judge the success of any system on two criteria.  The first being the return on investment of which we have certainly seen.  The second is the acceptance of the department managers who work with the system every day.  After a change process and acceptance period, managers today cannot imagine going back to what they used prior to LMS.  The system has improved their forecast accuracy, ease of effectively scheduling labor and their ability to understand labor cost drivers.”

UniFocus’ LMS provides a dynamic schedule editor for managers to make changes to system generated schedules and features an advanced interactive dashboard, allowing management to drill down and examine results at any level in the company structure.

The Time and Attendance system features cloud-based, real-time punch reporting and a communications portal, enabling employees to view schedules or make requests from anywhere with internet access. Additionally, it helps reduce overtime with innovative touch-screen Smart Clocks.
